It\’s almost the new year as I write this, and it\’s time for new beginnings. Hence, this site, among other things. So, please forgive the rather bare-bones and minimalist vibe for now. I\’ll be adding to this bad boy and \”spiffing it up\” as we go along. Please bear with me.

Oh! It\’s Karl Stevens here. Duh. Might be nice if I introduced myself, right? I\’m the author of the AFFILIATE MARKETING SCAM REVEALED, among other things.

A Bit About Me

If you don\’t know me, I\’m a former Hollywood/Fortune 500 Creative Director (yes, I worked on lots of projects you\’ve heard of), though I left that field (or perhaps more precisely, it left me) back in the late oughts, early teens (2008-2012 ish). I can\’t say I miss it much. Or really, at all.

Yeah, that\’s what happens when an industry manages to kill all the joy you once had in it.

Because of the glitz and glamour associated with it, people don\’t really realize that Hollywood is a factory town. It doesn\’t produce widgets, it produces \”entertainment,\” but the schedules are typically brutal nonetheless. Its a place where you can literally work yourself to death. Then again, given it\’s a trade that chews people up and spits them out as fast as it can, this probably shouldn\’t come as a surprise.

This, BTW, is why unions exist in Tinsel Town (and elsewhere). Great, right? Well, in my case, not so great. Why?

Well, somehow, I managed to pick the one profession in town that had no union, and so spent most of my career leaping (excuse the French) through my asshole to meet one insane deadline after another, year after year after year…

To say it was asses and elbows 99% of time would be an understatement. And I digress. Sorry.

Why We\’re Here (or, Why I\’m Here, Anyway)

So, when I retired – and not even close to rich as my oh-so-optimistic early life-plan had set forth – I decided I would apply my skills, knowledge and world-class chops to \”internet marketing\” and \”making money online.\”

It\’s \”easy,\” they said. It\’s \”simple,\” they said. It\’ll be a \”piece of cake,\” they assured me.

Uh huh. Yeah. Right.

Let\’s just say that that didn\’t work out so well, either. In fact, I sometimes think it\’s because I had skills, knowledge and capabilities that most folks didn\’t have that I failed repeatedly and often. Over and over again. For years!

Not to mention that my extremely high standards and self-imposed levels of professionalism only made what should have been \”quick \’n dirty\” guerilla marketing into ginormous time-sink/suck projects that, as my good ol\’ pop was wont to say: \”Take twice as long and cost twice as much.\” Except that in my case, the multiplier always seemed to start at 3 and go up from there!

Where We\’re Headed

The purpose of this site is to share my knowledge and experience in the realm of advertising, marketing, branding and promotions – specifically, in the online space, as that\’s my focus these days (it has been for nearly two decades now).

I\’ve got a lot of plans, but in the short term, I will be releasing a series of \”how to\” guides on top topics related to internet marketing, making money online, working from home, etc.

In fact, here\’s the first of \’em. It\’s called INSTAGRAM GUIDES for BEGINNERS.
